Flickerwisp, one of the most underrated heroes of Death and taxes, is often one of the topdecks I find myself wishing for most often. At face value, the card seems medium at best, but when it's varied applications are explored, it actually does quite a bit of work for it's overall cost. Lets start by looking at the card:
Flickerwisp
1[W][W]
Creature - Elemental
Flying
When Flickerwisp enters the battlefield, exile another target permanent. Return that card to the battlefield under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step.
P/T: 3/1
At first, very unassuming, dies to literally any form of removal, and is a tad slow and restrictive with it's double white requirement. After extensive use and experimentation with it's limitations, I'll stand by the cards ability to single-handedly turn games in your favor. Without first hand experience, the following list should suffice to give a base overview of the wisp's applicaitons:
List items are noted with either an (H) or (V) for hardcasting and vial applications.
This list is of course not a complete breakdown, but should be thorough enought to display the power of this 3/1 flyer.

- (V)(H) Resetting a land or creature for use on an opponents turn.
- (V) Saving a permanent from removal.
- (V) Keeping an opponent's permanent out of play for an entire turn. *Note, this is achieved by vialing in a flickerwisp after the beginning of the end step of the turn prior to the turn you wish to remove the permanent.
- (V)(H) Can be used to remove an opponent's soft lock pieces like: Ensaring Bridge, Blood Moon, Liliana etc...
- (V)(H) Removing a(n) Attacker/Blocker prior to combat.
- (V)(H) Resetting a Cavern of Souls to a more appropriate creature type.
- (V)(H)Resetting an aether vial to 0 counters to retick back to a useful number. not reccomended
- (H)Casting a flickerwisp, targeting another flickerwisp to achieve the 1 turn lockout without an aether vial. Note: This can be achieved with a restoration angel as well.
- (V) Flickering Mangara of corondor prior to resolution of it's activated ability to save it.
- (V)(H) Reset a flipped Delver of secrets or transofrmed Thing in the ice.
